IU East’s Homecoming 2022 begins November 4

Indiana University East will host “Pack Together: Homecoming 2022” November 4-10. Alumni, friends and the campus community are invited to participate in activities and events throughout the week.

Homecoming events are hosted by the IU Alumni Association East Region and IU East Office of Campus Life. Sponsored by Campus Life, First Bank Richmond, Reid Health and G101.3.

IU East’s Homecoming 2022 begins on Friday, November 4, with the Decorate a Wolf contest for students, faculty and staff. Stop by the Office of External Affairs in Springwood Hall, Room 103, to pick a wolf to decorate. Once decorated, bring the wolf to External Affairs for judging by 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9. Prize awarded.

Each day of Homecoming will also have its own theme. IU East Gear Day is on November 4 with Red Wolves fans and the campus community encouraged to wear their swag.

The First Bank Richmond Classic returns to Lingle Court in the Student Events Center.

The women’s basketball team hosts Concordia University at 2 p.m. on Lingle Court in the Student Events Center. Students can join the Howl Crowd for Crimson Night and receive a free t-shirt.

The basketball classic continues on Saturday, November 5, with the winning bracket and consolation games. The women’s basketball team will also host an Alumni Gathering during the game on Saturday.

Monday Madness is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 7 in the Graf Center, located in Springwood Hall. During the student event, activities include the Homecoming long sleeve shirt giveaway and free food. Faculty and staff may also pick up their Homecoming shirts during this time, with limited quantities available. The campus theme is Dress for Zoom Meeting Day. Hosted by the Office of Campus Life.

Homecoming T-Shirt Day is the theme for Tuesday, November 8. Later that night, the men’s basketball team will have its season home opening game as the Red Wolves host Goshen College. The game begins at 7 p.m. on Lingle Court. Students can join the Howl Crowd for Black Out Night and receive a free t-shirt.

Crazy Socks or Crazy Tie Day is the theme for Wednesday, November 9.

Also on Wednesday, the Faculty and Staff Homecoming Lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Whitewater Hall Lobby. A Thanksgiving Food Pantry Collection is being held as part of the luncheon. Faculty and staff are encouraged to bring items to the luncheon based on their office building location: Whitewater Hall includes dressing, stuffing or mac and cheese; Hayes Hall instant potatoes or gravy; Tom Raper Hall desert mix or boxed desert; and Springwood Hall canned vegetables.

The traditional Homecoming All Campus and Alumni Bonfire is from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, at the Hayes Hall Patio area, behind the building. Activities include a DJ, Fire/LED performers and free food. And, break out those plaids for Flannel Day.

Admission to Red Wolves basketball games for students, faculty and staff is free with a CrimsonCard. General admission cost is $7 per person, and students ages K-12 are free. For the full First Bank Richmond Tournament schedule, visit iueredwolves.com.
