Topic: Women in United Arab Emirates (UAE): Achievements, Challenges and the Way Forward
Contrary to the general perceptions of women in the Middle East, which is not necessarily accurate for UAE, UAE presents a very promising model of women empowerment in the region. Since the establishment of the country in 1971, women’s role has continued to evolve positively along with the progress of the country in all sectors and at all levels.
This presentation aims to provide a better understanding of women empowerment in UAE, the challenges involved and the way forward. It will highlight the evolvement of women empowerment in the legal, political, economic and social contexts.
