ARCHIVED: About Outlook Web App (OWA) and CAS at IU

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.

As of April 30, 2017, you must log into Indiana University's Central Authentication Service (CAS) to access your IU Exchange mail via the Outlook Web App (OWA).

If you are required to use Two-Step Login (Duo) for CAS logins, you are affected by this update, which makes email safer by providing an additional layer of security with two-factor authentication.

Note:
The CAS login requirement applies only to the OWA, and does not change how you access your IU Exchange email via desktop clients, such as Outlook for Windows or OS X, that use the RPC/HTTP, EWS, or IMAP protocol, or mobile clients, such as those on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone/Mobile devices, that use ActiveSync.
Before you begin:
Outlook Web App uses the CAS (Central Authentication Service) single sign-on login service. If your web browser already has an active CAS session for another IU account, you must first log out of your active CAS session by closing all open browser windows or tabs. Then re-open your browser and log into OWA with the appropriate IU username and passphrase. (Alternatively, you could use a different browser or a private browsing window/tab to log into OWA.)
